hi,

I've got a problem with arial, where it's all in italics. i've looked on the
newsgroups and know that i need to get the arial font, coz i've checked the
display settings, ands it's not that. does anyone know where i can download
it from?

Have you searched on your XP or possibly Office CD for something called
arial.tt_ (to be expanded) or arial.ttf?
Very good chance you'll find it there.
