Home server CPU, is it still good?

Hello all! I am looking at a CPU that has been in a home server for about 6 months. Does it still have a good couple years of life in it? Its an AMD if that helps.

What CPU are you considering? Using it for 6 months as a home server CPU will do no harm to it and it should last for many years.

Its a AMD athlon 64 x2 6400+ OLD I know. Cost me about a $10 difference to swap the 6000+ with the 6400+... I have had a 6000+ for about 2 years (upgraded from a 3800+.)

Should be fine. Those older Athlons hold up very well. Just make sure your motherboard will support it and you'll be good to go.

Ok thanks for the help. Yeah, the 6000+ has done good. Mated with a 9800gt, the only game I have that it bogs down on is "NFS The Run". (Weekend Gamer.) Someday Ill get an I series...
