Need soundcard and speaker Help

Corsair H40
G Skill 16G(2x8G) DDR3 1600MHZ
OCZ 256G Vertex 4 Series
external hdd for storage and backup

those are current system specs I have 1 PCIe 3.0 either for internal soundcard or gpu.
I use reason and fruity loops mainly with casual gaming.
I want to make music aswell as enjoy music and sound.

previously was using
q9550
zotac 9300 itx
4gb
logitech speakers
Previous sound was alway crackling at higher volume
old system using onboard sound with zoom r16 as my primary input for electric, accoustic guitar, bass and mic.
zoom has been playing up refusing to boot without pc connection so trying to fase it out.

Not sure what soundcard and eventualy speakers/monitors to invest in.

Please help
