The value of pcie 3.0

hello,

i know that it is hard to predict future use in computers.
I have only one question in my mind: How important wil pcie 3.0 be in the next 3-4 years, if you do not do extreme overclock sli or crossfire, and and you play fps like an average gamer.
the reason i have this question is because i cant decide on the next to mobo's to buy the end of march:

asus z68 maximus iv gene-z

asrock z68 extreme 4 gen3

or should i take another mobo?

It will have no value for now The 590GTX did not max PCIE gen2 so will not be and issue till 700 nvidia or 8000 ATI. Prob not even then but then again why not have it?
