Amd Phenom ii x4 stock cooler

I recently bought above mentioned CPU, and i read a lot about this CPU producing alot of heat, since its 125 TDP, and i also read on cpu-world, that max working temp is from 55 to 62 c. When idle its about 42-44 c, when playing games ( on load) max is 55- 57c. Do you think i need to buy new cooler or not? Btw im not really planning on overclocking or anything. Also, i was told that Cooler Master TX3 will be great solution for heat problems. Any help would be appreciated. :ange:

More about phenom stock cooler
  1. are u sure tht u put the cpu heat sink on correct and did u use the theramal grease tht came with the cpu or ur own
  2. I didnt do that, the guys from the retail shop where i bought cpu did that.
  3. have good ventallion in ur case
  4. you mean like additional side coolers in case?
  5. yea
  6. i was thinking about that too, but would that be sufficient, or do i have to change the cpu cooler too?
  7. maybe
  8. your temps are ok for a stock cooler. The idle may be a little high (depends on the temp of the room its in) but 57 at full load is nothing at all to worry about.

    I agree.

I remember my X4 955 with the stock cooler was seeing Idles of around 35-40C and full load of around 50-54C. (The difference most likely due to ambient differences I'm guessing)

    @ OP

If you're concerned, you can get either TX3 or the Hyper 212+/EVO for a little peace of mind :)
  10. exactly my thought. if i had 100 euros to spend on CPU, i better spend some more for decent cooler to protect it. Thanks for the replies!
