Loading an operting system

Hello,

The hard drive in my computer crashed. I have windows 7, but can't load it without a hard drive. How do I reimage (copy) the program so I can have a disk or flash drive to load onto my computer

You can't run Win7 off a USB/flash drive as Windows needs to be activated and so forth. The best thing would be getting a linux distro which can run off a flash/usb drive.
