Dell inspiron charging port damage replacement cost

Hello,
i have a dell inspiron. the charger port has been boken, but i'm able to charge . can i replace the port. if so what will be the cost

To give you an idea... my laptop repair company in the UK charges £109.80..

Thats £9.80 for the charging socket and £100 (2 hours) labour to totally strip the laptop to get the motherboard out to do the job...then test and rebuild and guarantee it...

And take my advice, if you have never stripped a laptop, this is NOT a DIY job...

In India this would cost you around INR 3500 (as of 2012 Jun). It requires a complete rip-off and then desoldering of the broken Dell jack, and soldering a replacement. It is expensive... but if that happens you can't help it. THERE IS NO NEED TO REPLACE THE MOTHERBOARD as some Dell Support ppl may tell you.

some dont require desoldering and are plugged to the board, worth while checking. also get yourself a cheap solder iron, unleaded solder and flux, try repair yourself, it isnt that hard.
