NVIDIA WHQL Driver version 295.73 install ERROR?

Hey peoples,

Just found to my delight that the new NVIDIA drivers for my GTX580 have been released. They claim to have a vast performance improvement in games like Skyrim etc etc.

So I d/l the file of about 157mb and the executable copies the setup files to my drive but before the setup can go any further I just get the message "7-Zip: Data error".

I searched the folder but there is no "Setup" application like with the previous drivers.

Anyone else had this issue yet? Is it possible that someone has hacked the NVIDIA site coz this looks really dodgey!

Turned out the file was just corrupted somewhere in the download. No dramas

Keen to see how much of a performance gain I will experience!

Well good to know to fixed it!, thanks for making this post, because i had no idea the new WHQRL was out for 295

UPDATE: I can't give you exact figures as I didn't benchmark before and after I installed 295.73 but to give you an idea:

Using an i7 860 + single GTX 580 3GB at a res of 2560x1440 I'm getting between
45- 59 fps when looking down on the big tree from the steps in Whiterun. And that's with the Skyrim high-res textures mod installed.

No overclock whatsoever.

Don't worry mate, you're not that far behind the curve. They did only come out today and Guru3D had them up before Nvidia did! :lol:
