Weird Crash while Gaming [pic inside] - BFG GTS 250

Hi everyone,
Here is my current PC setup:
motherboard: MSI 870A-G54
processor: 3.00 gigahertz AMD Phenom II X4 945
memory: PNY Optima 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) PC3-10666 1333MHz DDR3
video card: BFG GTS-250 (1gb)
hard drive (2): Maxtor 7Y250M0 [Hard drive] (251.00 GB) 7200 RPM and SAMSUNG SP2504C [Hard drive] (250.00 GB
The problem I'm experiencing is that whenever I play video games (RIFT or League of Legends) after awhile or sometimes quickly, it really varies, my screen looks like this: http://imgur.com/GaO8O and the sound gets all distorted and then it crashes.
I really need your help because I'm looking for the cheapest solution.

I have had something similar before when my old system would overheat. My sound would either screech or loop the last audio input it received while the screen would freeze like that and then it would crash. I would try blowing out your system, and if it is in a cubby hole...try moving it to a more open area.
