Hi,

I have a 9210 with the contact service problem. The PDA side works ok, aside
from the fact that the screen is covered with a black layer (software
generated as far as I can tell, since it comes up a sec after I open the
PDA side).

Anyway, my local Nokia service insists that the problem is unsolvable (i.e.
the contact service problem is the worst thing that can happen to a nokia
phone, that's what they told me), and that it requires the board to be
changed...

Hmm, I find this hard to believe.

This whole thing happend when I unplugged and plugged in the battery to do a
reboot.

Anyone here can tell my what this problem might be? I've seen some info on
the net that it has something to do with a checksum calculated wrong or a
sim lock or something.

Some pro info? Can it be fixed?

Thanks,
MrZammler

well...i dropped my 9210 and the phone worked, PDA side also worked. Only
that I had no screen on the outside. Flashing the thing and reattaching the
LCD (outside LCD) connector worked great for me. Mine didnt display contact
service, but it may be useful to you.
