Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but this is the computer i currently have http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc [...] =null#N195 i upgraded to a temporary gpu which was the ati radeon 5450. I was told in order to get a new processor and a better gpu i would have to buy a new mother board. Anyone have any suggestions about one that is compatiable with my pc? Im using this computer for gaming and currently i can play games such as vindictus and others on high with slight lag, But i want to upgrade so ill be able to play games like Blade&soul and tera without lag.

Well first things first. I'm assuming you're going to reuse the case which came with this pre-built system. So, it would be safer to get another mATX motherboard. Also, I don't know much about AMD in general so what I'm going to suggest to you are all intel-based.

ASRock B75 PRO3: $80 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157314

i3 2120: $25 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115077

You also have to buy new RAM.
G-skill Ripjaws 8 Gb RAM: $46 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428

Other than this, I think you can reuse the rest of your parts.

Do you want to stay with AMD or do you want to switch over Intel? Also, I'm not sure that's necessarily true.

NOTE:Only socket AM2+ processors are supported with this motherboard.

AMD Phenom II Quad-Core
AMD Phenom II Triple-Core
AMD Phenom Quad-Core (A) 9xxx series (AM2+)
AMD Phenom Triple-Core (T) 8xxx series (AM2+)
AMD Athlon X4
AMD Athlon X3
AMD Athlon X2 (B) (AM2+)

That's a list of the processors you can upgrade with using that motherboard. Also, GPU's go on the PCI Express slot which that motherboard have. Technically, you can upgrade your GPU but you will be sacrificing some performance).

As long as your MoBo has the connectors for them, you'll be fine. I know for sure that the one's I linked are compatible so no worries there. Also, I would also think about changing the power supply. The one they have is probably not of the highest quality.
