I currently have a Core 2 Quad 2.8 paired with a GTX 260. I want to do an upgrade of my video card. I thought about getting the GTX 670 Ti which is coming out in the near future. However, I wouldn't mind waiting for the GTX 680. Is the 680 worth the extra time and money given my older CPU? I've been able to wait so long in upgrading because consoles have held PC games back until recently (BF3!!).

Wait for the cards to come out and then decide , you will need to overclock your cpu to minimise a bottleneck using any high end card to get the best out of it. Any card like a 560ti/570/6950 upgrade for you now will make a huge difference to your 260. its just hard to say about cards that havent been released.

Thanks for the reply. I was going on the assumption that the 680 would be much faster than the 670. I already figured the current video cards would be bottle necked by CPU. Actually, how much bottle neck should I expect from pairing GTX 580 (currently available) with a Core 2 Duo Quad 2.8? Thank you.
