hi...

Purchase date: tonight

Budget: ~$1000

Usage: small stuff aside, 80% Photoshop, 20% Vegas

Country: US
Website: Newegg
Parts Pref: Major brands
Overclocking: Marginally, if at all... but would like to keep option open to do so
SLI: No
Screen resolution: 1920x1200

Case: Probably something like the HAF922 or so, budget for case ~$100.

MB: Preferably ASUS as I have had good experience with them. Was looking at ASUS P8Z77-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z77:

CPU: i7-3770K

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

I prefer 2 sticks for 16gb total - as opposed to 4 sticks of 4gb each for example
I'm totally clueless on RAM speeds and timings, etc... are these compatible? Any other good suggestions?

Fan: Hyper 212+... used before, seems ok and should be sufficient with only minor overclocking and a full tower with high air flow?

GPU: Already have, one GTX 560. No SLI.

HDDs: Already have, will be using 2x SSD + 3x HDD

PSU: Was happy with Corsair in the past so I figure a Corsair 600W?

OS: Win 7 Pro 64bit

Monitor: Already have, a Dell ultrasharp 24" 1920x1200

My primary concern is ensuring the compatibility of above components. Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks!

Think I'll drop the P8Z77-V PRO and switch to P8Z77-V.

Looking through supported RAM, I see no 2 x 8gb setup - only various 4 x 4gb. I realize not all supported configurations may have been tested to date, but is it a safer bet to just go with one of their supported 4 x 4gb configs?

I was always under the impression 2 x 8gb would perform better than 4 x 4gb and with 4 slots, it would be easier to upgrade if 2 slots were kept free.
