AMD AM2 heat sink doesn't fit AM2 CPU/Mobo :S

Hi

Can anyone recommend a heat sink for this motherboard/CPU - http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/ALiveNF6G-DVI/

I bought an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/AM3) but the black mounting bracket does not fit the board...

Please point out if I've missed some sort of compatibility requirement.

It should fit. I hate to ask, but did you look carefully at the instructions. You have to use the proper mounting brackets for it to connect the motherboard/CPU.

Follow the instructions in the FOR AMD section of your installation guide.
It uses pictures and you should immediately spot that you don't use the intel mounting plate for an AMD installation. <grin>

The 'black bracket' is for the Intel boards. You just need to use the 2 clips and screws to attach it to the AMD board's built-in retention barcket. Read the instructions.
