I just copied all the entries in my phonebook to the sim card. but now when I scroll through my phonebook I have to go by the same record twice. Is there a way to see only the entries saved to the phone while scrolling the phonebook.

Nope, the phone will show all entries and no way to have it just show just SIM card entries or Phone entries.
As previously noted the 'best' way is to 'move' phone entries to the card and visa-versa.
