Any graphical operating systems will use up as much physical memory as it can to run things. Anything that it can't stuff into physical memory, it will send to the hard drive. That's why windows has page files, a.k.a. "Virtual Memory."
And this is also why Windows will run faster when you add more memory to it, because then it doesn't have to send as much stuff to the hard drive.
So, in taking up all of your physical memory, it's actually doing a good thing, believe it or not...
