Lcd monitor resolution and refresh rate

Hello,

I have a Viewsonic VA1716W-4 LCD. I changed the display setting to 800x600@85Hz and it was broken. All I could see is "out of range". What should I do?

Boot up your PC, as soon as it's on spam your F8 key. You will then boot into a "Advanced System Boot" menu. Use the arrow keys to select "Enable Low Resolution", press enter. Your PC should reset to 640x480, or maybe it's 800x600, no matter. It also resets the refresh rate to 60Hz or something low like that.
