Hello. My HP Laptop with Windows 7 was working fine until today. I had been getting notices that the battery was unable to hold a charge, but I kept the laptop constantly plugged in. However, while I was away from the laptop, the plug was knocked out, leaving it running on the bad battery. I didn't happen to notice this until the laptop suddenly made a clicking sound then shut off. This has happened several times before, so I rebooted the laptop. However, on startup, the laptop shows the HP logo, then provides me with a choice to startup normally or use startup repair. After that, it shows the normal windows 7 startup logo and stays like that for approx. 1 minute. Then, the screen goes black, a blue screen of death appears for a fraction of a second, and the process repeats. This has happened every time I attempt to start the laptop. I have tried safe mode and the last successful configuration options. Please try to help me. Also, formatting the computer is out of the question unless it is the only option. Thanks.
