Use Wireless Router as Repeater

I have a wireless router Netgear WNR1000 N150. I am wondering if I can use it as an access point/ repeater, and if I can, how to set it up. The modem provided by the ISP is in the room with the desktops; can I place the wireless router in a room downstairs without it being wired to a computer? Thanks.
