Advice on first gaming rig?

Hey guys, this is my first time trying to build my own gaming rig.

I'm not exactly a techie, though I do consider myself a hardcore gamer. My last PC just died(my cpu, hdd were fried), it was an Acer PC, specs were:
Intel® Core™ i3-2120 processor (3.30GHz, 1333MHz, 3MB L3 cache)
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 520 Graphics Card (1GB Dedicated RAM)
4GB RAM (max is 8GB if I'm not mistaken)
500GB HDD
DVD-Super Multi Double-Layer Drive
Multi-in-1 card reader
Wireless 802.11b/g/n
Wireless keyboard & mouse
20” Monitor with LED Technology .

I could play most games on high (eg Skyrim, Far Cry 2 etc), but not Very or Ultra.

What I'm now looking for now are parts that will allow for easy upgradeability, ad is relatively cheap.

So basically, my budget is gonna be around $400-600(not much, but its the only time I can get my own rig, while I have the money), not including OS, and HDD(I'll be taking an SSD but games are on external HDD).

After digging around, this is my current idea:

CPU+MB: i3 2120/i5-2320 + Asrock H61M-U3S3
GPU: Sapphire HD 6850
RAM: G.skill 1333mhz 4gb ram x2
ODD: LG 24x dvdrw Sata
Casing+PSU: Xigmatek Asgard Pro + FSP Hexa 500w

is it good enough? Am i getting value for money? And will it allow me to pay at least HIGH(not Very or Ultra)??

All help and advice will be greatly appreciated :)

EDIT:

Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next 2 months (I still have my work laptop)

Budget Range: USD$400-600

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Surfing internet,

Parts Not Required: OS, Keyboard Mouse, Monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I'm not from America, don't think newegg and amzon ship much here (Singapore)

Country: Singapore

Parts Preferences: Nope, as long as it floats my boat

Overclocking: Maybe if it drastically improves performance

SLI or Crossfire: Son't really care

Monitor Resolution: 1600x1200

Additional Comments: As long as it plays most games on high (not very or ultra, just high)

First off, you should link the other thread so that we can get to discussing on one only.

Secondly, fill out these questions so we can help you: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261222-31-build-advic...

Thirdly--your parts aren't terrible. But don't buy much yet.

Fourth--Buy the Antec Neo Eco 620C for $35 right now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

You won't do better. If you need to bounce that idea off of a couple people, do so right now and then buy it.
