Hey guys, this is my first time trying to build my own gaming rig.
I'm not exactly a techie, though I do consider myself a hardcore gamer. My last PC just died(my cpu, hdd were fried), it was an Acer PC, specs were:
Intel® Core™ i3-2120 processor (3.30GHz, 1333MHz, 3MB L3 cache)
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 520 Graphics Card (1GB Dedicated RAM)
4GB RAM (max is 8GB if I'm not mistaken)
DVD-Super Multi Double-Layer Drive
Multi-in-1 card reader
Wireless keyboard & mouse
20” Monitor with LED Technology .
I could play most games on high (eg Skyrim, Far Cry 2 etc), but not Very or Ultra.
What I'm now looking for now are parts that will allow for easy upgradeability, ad is relatively cheap.
So basically, my budget is gonna be around $400-600(not much, but its the only time I can get my own rig, while I have the money), not including OS, and HDD(I'll be taking an SSD but games are on external HDD).
After digging around, this is my current idea:
CPU+MB: i3 2120/i5-2320 + Asrock H61M-U3S3
GPU: Sapphire HD 6850
RAM: G.skill 1333mhz 4gb ram x2
ODD: LG 24x dvdrw Sata
Casing+PSU: Xigmatek Asgard Pro + FSP Hexa 500w
is it good enough? Am i getting value for money? And will it allow me to pay at least HIGH(not Very or Ultra)??
All help and advice will be greatly appreciated
