USB Ports, how to use them?

Hello...I have two USB ports on my SONY monitor case as well as on my MS Natural Pro keyboard. How are these used and can I use then instead of porting to the (2) USB ports on my mobo?

I believe both the monitor and keyboard each has a cable that connects to the USB port on your mobo. If that's the case, then just plug the USB devices in your monitor and keyboard.

So the kb and monitor then are just "extensions" of the USB port on my mobo? If I connect the mouse via USB to the kb or monitor then doesnt the kb and or monitor have to be connected to the mobo USB port as well?

Yes, just connect the kb and monitor to the USB port on the mobo.

The monitor and keyboard actually appear as hub in Device manager.
