I just upgraded an HP Vectra VL400 from 98SE to 2K

I am getting a question mark in my Device Manager for the following device.

PCI simple communications controller

I am unable to find a location for this device driver. Does anyone know where (on the internet or the software disks) I can find this driver and is it important/can I live without it?

Thanks.

It sounds like you are missing either a modem driver, or the driver for the onboard 3COM LAN. Or the PRO100S LAN Adapter (depending on your system.)

Here's a link to the latest drivers for the system:

The 3com LAN controller was working fine. It was the internal 56K modem (another PCI comm device) that I didn't have the driver for.

Thanks for your help in pointing in the right direction.
