as most games are GPU bound I would take the i3 then the Phenom II then the i5

If you don't wanna upgrade for a long time maybe the i5, I guess I can't say much for the AMD CPU, but I guess I'm considered an Intel Fanboy. I just love their hardware's abilities and power they have.
And maybe someday in the future games will be able to use more than 2 CPU cores and where would you be for intense gaming with a dual core.(i3)
