USB to VGA Adapter work for Eyefinity?

Hi Xlack - I am assuming you refer to three or more monitor eyefinity with the 6970 in your sig. I am also assuming that your particular 6970 uses miniDP and not regular-size DP.

That USB vga card would not work for eyefinity. You could probably use it to give you three monitors in windows desktop but I wouldn't recommend it.

For a miniDP this is what you need for eyefinity if you are in Canada: http://www.amazon.ca/Accell-B101b-002b-Ultraav-Displayp...

If you look at the below-linked AMD eyefinity validated dongle page you will see the Accell B101b-002b is listed as a validated ACTIVE miniDP -> VGA adapter despite Amazon not specifically saying it is active in their listing. See: http://support.amd.com/us/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity-don...

Thanks for the help! Next question I have is will this one work? (I know its made for Mac's but a Mini Displayport is a mini displayport) http://store.apple.com/ca/product/MB572Z/A

Best solution

I wouldn't. There is a guide in the graphics and display forums describing eyefinity issues and setup questions. While the general post doesn't recommend doing DP -> VGA, I personally haven't seen an issue (but it's been a year since I used a DP - > VGA adapter). If your monitor must have VGA then the Accell adapter should work for you no problem. A few posts down in that thread Hugo mentions his Apple miniDP -> VGA adapter not working. I wouldn't get the Apple one, get the Accell.
