Photoshop, illustrator, large files 24/7 build advice

Looking for some advice on a build for a graphic designer.

Looking to sustain enough memory without crashes, 3 monitors, low temp case.

would a solid state be best for this? we have a server so extra HD's are not needed.

Trying to get over the unlimited undo's offered in illustrator and photoshop without running out of system memory.

Thanks,

I think I might actually have a different idea :)

Tell me what you think:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5626/ivy-bridge-preview-c...

"Our Photoshop test is well threaded but it doesn't peg all cores constantly. Instead you get burstier behavior. With the core count advantage out of the way, SNB-E steps aside and allows the 3770K to step up as the fastest CPU we've tested here. The performance advantage over the 2600K is around 9%. "

Of course, an overall CS5 score might not be definitive, but it's all I can find.

Based on that I might go a different route.

i7 3770K

  • LIAN LI PC-A70F USB3.0 Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Because I think graphics designers want a nice case.
  • SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold ((SS-650KM Active PFC F3)) 650W ATX12V V2.3/EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD ...
Overkill in wattage, but will operate in silent fanless mode at the power draws we are talking about and will have enough power for whatever you need later.
  • G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL10Q-32GBZL
This is the maximum amount of RAM you can use in this system. Probably overkill, but there it is. Because RAM this fast is considered a little overclock of the CPU, you will also want to purchase this Intel Tweaking Insurance
  • ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
This is a lot of motherboard for your needs. I just saw no reason to skimp there given the overall cost so far.
  • Crucial M4 CT512M4SSD2BAA 2.5" 512GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
A reliable SSD. maybe you don't need so much and a 256GB would do.

Well, you should have a scheduled reboot about weekly, if you can. Of course, the actual cause of crashes can be many things... but that's what the Event Viewer in Win 7 is for. I note that you didn't include your PSU, which can be a source of instability.

On the monitors, there are different routes you can go. A Quaddro is the most expensive route, but is simpler in terms of hardware and comes with drivers that SUPPOSEDLY are more stable:

However, you can spend less and support up to 6 monitors easily enough, if you get two graphics cards like this
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
this will require some adapters though, and added expense.

Ah thanks for that. Good to have another review confirming the performance.

Yes, the case choice was strictly an aesthetics thing. Here's another option, the Corsair 650D

but that is not a bad case :], and i am just talking about the design of the case :] , and you are welcome.

By the way @Irauren are you planin gon ussing CS6? os i could post the system REquirements, i think they can make a better Build if we shown them what are they.
