Zalman 9500 Led / Pentium D 805!

I think I just figured out the instructions to the Zalman 9500 Led HSF. Am I right about, I beleive the black backplate goes underneath the motherboard?

So basically steps =

1) take out mobo
2) put backplate support underneath mobo
3) put motherboard back in
4) then put on the other support plate on top and around the CPU
5) put thermal Compound on CPU
6) Put the Zalman 9500 HSF on and screw it in?


Please tell me if I am correct about these steps I wont be trying this until someone tells me this is the correct way to install the HSF.

It starts with the 775 socket installation, which does show the backplate that goes behind the MB.

Yea thanks. I looked at that site and watched it prob 5 dozen times and read the actual instructions dozen times and couldn't understand how it went together. And I just took a 10 second glance at it while i was packing it up in the box and I was like aah! I think I get it.

I will probably give it a go tomorrow afternoon when I get up.

Can anyone tell me a ballpark area that it will knock of my stock intel HSF from 140F Idle to 170-175F Load? Maybe 100-120? 110? What should I be looking forward @ idle and load.
