I am very new at P C's in general, and I need to find out what Video card is compatible with the AM2+ mobo? Are there any special power requirements. Finally, is there any such chart resource that has been formulated anywhere that tells you by motherboard what video cards are supported?

All PCIE video cards are compatible with AM2+ motherboards.
Power requirement they have , depend on how powerfull is the video card. But a 600W-650W can deal with any of those video cards.
If your motherboard have PCIE x16 slot than you can use any PCIE video card.

Hi,
I've a very competitive AM2+ platform PC (ASUS M4A79, Phenom II 965 @3700, 8 GB DDR2 800 RAM, AMD 6950 2 GB GPU) and I can play games very well.
If you invest in a new powerful GPU you should at least have an AM3 processor (most AM2+ mobos support newer CPUs like Phenom II) CPU of about 3200 MHZ to avoid bottlenecks.
