yes you should wait until around mid-next year, by then Vista has come up with some DX10 video cards and the 65nm will be out there are well =]
The 7600 GT is one of the best AGP video cards, but if you want to really go over budget get a 7800GS.
You should post this in the video card section, youll get alot more replies.

you want the fastest agp video card?go with the 7800gs.it has a 7900 chipset with 24 pipelines and 8 vertex shaders.and it has very decent clock speeds.enjoy.

Definetly the 7800GS is the best one money can buy.
But if youre planning on upgrading in six months or so I wouldnt trows all my greens away on something you wont use for long, unless youre sure you can resell it at a good price.
what are you upgrading from by the way??

sure, the 7600 is a great card, but it still doesn't come close to the 7800gs.although the 7800gs is a significant amount of money,it offers great graphics and you might even decide to hold off upgrading for awhile longer.unfortunately i didn't wait and so i missed out on the 7800gs.if i had waited,i probably would still be in my old system.but alas, the 7800gs didn't come out till i had bought my 7800gt and new mainboard.but still i now own two 7800gt's and run them in sli.i think i'm doing good.but you would do well to purchase the 7800gs for the best performance.

video cards section, eh? DOHH!

upgrading from a 5900 regular... don't know if it will be worth spending the g's though, since the cpu will most likely bottleneck me like there's no tomorrow... unless of course i overclock it and subsequently move to antarctica or liquid nitrogen falls into my lap.

yes there are graphics cards forums...

Definetly yould feel the difference with the 7600GT, and you could get some good zalman or thermaltake to give overclocking a try.
Plus, yould keep the HSF for the new comp so no money loss there.
