How many watts do I need

Hello, im building a computer soon and I would like your help with how many watts my psu will need and if there are any parts I should get or upgrade please tell me!

Here are the specs:
Mobo: gigabyte g1. Sniper 3
CPU: intel core i7
CPU cooler: corsair h80 liquid cooler
GPU: evga geroce gtx 690
RAM: still looking please recommend some great ram


If I missed anything please tell me.

I would recommend a 650w-750w PSU from a QUALITY brand

A system with a GTX 690 needs a recommended 620w power supply. A 650w power supply from Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, XFX, Silverstone, Enermax, OCZ or Antec will assure you are fine.

As for RAM get 1.5v DDR3 1600 cas 9-9-9-24. Either Corsair Vengance or GSkill Ripjaws X would be my recommendation. Both are very good and both have a lifetime warranty. Go with whatever is cheaper.

you should get a 750 watt psu for room for upgrade in the future and you dont wanna strain the psu either

650ish minimum IMO. if you dont care about adding much to the build afterwords, pay for efficiency(silver/gold/platinum 80+) rather than more watts.(efficiency anyways usually have better 12v rails)

And for the ram I think I will get the corsair vengeance 8 GB pack (2x4GB) pack there is a 16 gb (2x8GB) pack from tigerdirect but I haven't heard great reviews about tigerdirect

Thanks for the best answer but the AX850 will not leave you enough room to upgrade a GTX 690. All you could really do to upgrade it would be to add a second GTX 690 and for that you need a 950w power supply. So if you think you will add a second card get a power supply that will handle it.

Have you seen the price a 690 I won't be getting another one for a LONG time and that seasonic PSU looks pretty coll I think I might go with that one instead.

Lol i hear you man they are a lot of money and great choice my little brother has that seasonic psu has had it for over six months not a single issue hes running 580's in sli though he doesn't have a 690 hehehe
