I am running a i7 2600k OC'd at 4.2 and a GTX 460 2win (the double GPU card).

I've been having some trouble running a couple of games lately, specifically MLB 2k12. Its been shutting down in mid game presumably because the graphics card or the CPU has gotten too hot. I don't have this problem running BF3 on high settings, so it's kind of weird that a console port such as MLB 2k12 is giving me trouble.

Are these temps abnormally high? And what is the highest safe temperature that any game should be running at?

CPU temps (Celsius):

idle
67
65
68

Avg. during gameplay
82
82

85

Max
91
97

GPU temps (Celsius):

GPU1 avg during gameplay:
87

GPU2 avg during gameplay:
68

GPU 1 usage:
98%

GPU2 usage:
10-20%

^ That.

But man, yeah those CPU temps are WAY too high.

You should be gaming in the 50's, really, not IDLING in the 60's.

The max recommended temp is 72.6C for the Package. The cores will go up to 98C until they throttle down, but ideally, you don't want the cores to get much warmer than the 73-ish max package temp. The CPU can handle it for short periods, but not forever.
