Hey so this is my first post and also my first build. I currently have a Dell studio XPS as a laptop acquired in 2010 however it doesn't run games very well past medium settings. I want this build to be mostly for gaming however if need be i would also like to use it for school occasionally. I'm an architecture major so ill be using CAD, Rhino, and the Adobe Suite. I usually do renderings on the school computers but itd be nice if i could do some small renderings on this without too much issue. But its mostly for gaming
Do i not need an SSD? I'm sort of new to all this and the few places i looked recommended on in order to put your OS on it
You can just get a small, 60GB SSD. This can be bought for around $100. You don't really need an SSD. You'll probably shave off around 10-20 seconds off Windows boot time, game loads. If you can wait that long however, then there is no need.
