Upgrade my I7 920?
Aug 16, 2012, 4:17 AM
Ive had my i7 920 for over 3 years now and I was wondering if Picking up a i7 3770k would be a decent upgrade for the next few years.
I dont do any video editing or anything like that. I am just a gamer. BF3 FFXIV CRYSIS stuff like that and plan to play on ultra settings.
I am picking up a gtx 670 and was wondering if I would run into any bottleneck issues that would require me to have to upgrade.
Right now the i920's board doesnt use pci3.0 so I wasnt sure how much of a handy cap there was. My 920 is not overclocked btw. Any help would be appreciated.

You'll be okay with a pci e 2.0 slot. save your money and wait for haswell. That's a very capable CPU. Enjoy it.
