Hi everyone,

Currently the graphics card I am using for my gaming computer is a BFG 260 GTX ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143189 ).

Recently I came into possession of a Sapphire 4870 1GB Vapor- X. ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102825 ).

I do realize that these cards are similar performance wise (after checking some charts and the graphics card hierarchy).

I'm trying to figure though which one would be the better overall card to use ( I do a good amount of gaming and video editing for my job ).

From what I've read in most places, the 260 GTX has a slight edge over the 4870, but being still curious about it, I wanted to ask the community on which card they think would be better.

Thanks!

Try running a benchmark like Unigine Heaven 2,5 and/or Futuremark 3D11 or Futuremark Vantage and compare them yourself. Make sure you use the newest video card drivers. Those programs are free and will take into account your particular computer set-up better than anyone's opinion.
Both of those cards are DX10 BTW.

Thanks for the replies. I did notice that the 4870 is DX10.1 capable while the 260 is only DX10 Capable. I tested them both out and get fairly similar results in most games. I'm not totally sure if DX10.1 adds anything important over DX10 though. Any other inputs on these cards would be great.
