I am trying to install a power color 2gb 5450 on a Gateway GT4024 Media Center computer. I've tried installing it in the board several times with the same result. All that happens is the fans stay at full blast with no picture on the screen at all. :fou:   I'm going crazy :pt1cable:

Can you post your full spec's? We need to this in order to help. Also include your power supply (PSU) model brand and how many watts.

Pentium D 945 @3.4 GHz, Foxconn aluminum cpu cooler, 250GB SATA III 7200 RPM 3.5 IN. @3.0GBPS socket, 250 GB IDE 7200 RPM 3.5 IN. 2 1GB pc2 4200 ddr2 kingston ram, Win XP professional MS 7248R motherboard, PowerColor Radeon HD 5450 2 GB (THAT WONT WORK) and yes I tried it in a different computer and it did work.

PSU: FSP 400-60GHS(85) 400 Watt PSU (IT WILL POWER MY COMPUTER JUST FINE WITHOUT CARD).

BIOS: W7248AG2 1.0K

I KNOW IT'S AN OLD PC.

I have never seen that before. At this point I don't think you are going to be able to acheive your goal. If your BIOS is doing that, some how I think it got corrupted or something like that.

It looks like the 2.1 card isn't going to work in the 1.0 slot. The Bios have to be updated from the getgo in order for the 2.1 card to work and even that is up in the air.

I would get another PC or build on your self. To fix the one you have now might cost more than another store bought one these days. On line I see all kinds of PC's for sale around 200 dollars.

But it is your call and I know money is tight. I would love to upgrade my GPU's but I can't no money. Well I wish you the best of luck and I hope something works out for you.
