Dear all

This has probably been asked but a friend of mine just gets numbers next to
messages in his SMS inbox as opposed to names when the sender is in his
address book.

Any ideas as to how to get the names showing instead. Phone is on Orange UK.

TIA

Tell your friend to alter the mobile numbers from 079xxxxxxxx to
+4479xxxxxxxx in his address book and the problem will be solved.

Cheers for that. Are there any j2me or other pc based programs to do the
conversion for you?

I remember doing this with a 6310i address book where you download the book
via ir and then run the proc and it adds +44 where it finds a 0. This was
back in 2002 but I do remember doing it.

I do not know of any but it is only the mobile numbers you are going to get
SMSs from that needs to be changed not he whole phonebook.

Yeah but the guy gets texts off a lot of people and doing a quick repetitive
edit on a downloaded file is easier than changing thirty numbers. Of course
following this action it's a site easier to take the phone abroad and use
other providers where country code matters.
