Hd 4870 vs 6870

I currently have a Hd 4870 that has 750mhz 900MHz (3.6Gbps) memory clock
I wanted to upgrade to a gd 6870 with 900mhz and 1050MHz (4.2Gbps) memory clock

I want to know if its a big enough upgrade to be worth buying i have not over clocked the gpu yet and if i did how many mhz would i get and how much lower then the hd 6870 will it be

Current http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150394

Upgrade http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150561

If i did overclock my current gpu what kinda cooler would i need so it doesnt overheat on me its running about 60-70c atm on a max load.
