Hello,
It is possible to launch and play Battlefield 3 on this configuration? My friend has 2 copies of the game and can sell me one for an affordable price. I have xp and I thought to better to ask than to waste time to reinstall windows on vista or 7 (have both). Of course low details and at least 25 FPS, it is possible?

Core 2 Duo e2160 1.8 GHz 'overclocked to 3.0
ATI Radeon HD4850 512 mb
2GB RAM
and 1024x768 LG Flatron 17"

Greets :)

I think you need at least DX10.1 which isn't supported by XP. In short you would need Vista/7.

I think that system will run bf3; it fits inside the minimum specs.

Yes should be ok if you install on window 7 make sure you MB have all teh driver support for Window 7 ... Chipset / LAN / Audio ... these is the most important ... for Video card driver should not a issue... your overclock the CP to 3Ghz.... and just running on 1024x768... hope you can get 30 FPS..

Yeah, for that resolution and video card? It will handle it flawlessly, the only thing that's really holding you back is the processor honestly, and it's not even that big of a bottleneck.

You'll be able to play Battlefield 3 on Ultra High settings at 1024-by-768. The Radeon HD 4850 is still a very powerful card, faster than the new Radeon HD 5770s and 6770s, so you're all good.

My brother has a Radeon HD 4850 in his system, with a Phenom II X2 processor (equivalent to an Intel Core 2 Duo E8500) and 2GB of RAM as well and he runs Battlefield 3 on Ultra settings at sub-40 frames per second at 1440-by-900 resolution.

Battlefield 3 is a highly optimized game so it doesn't really require much to run it at high settings, it's only with DirectX 11, cards have trouble with it, which isn't even worth it in my opinion

I don't know why I have got troubles with BF3. My computer has. May i not installed important programme/programmes? I have got the newest drivers for everything, direct x 11, net framework 3.5. Low details on CCC and in game but it's still not enough fps to play well. Also the cpu reaches high temperatures up to 70-75 degrees. :( Whether this all is due to cpu? or maybe I overlooked something in the software?
