Which graphics card is better?

i would say the 240 1gb GDDR5 because the ram is by far faster than the GDDR3 ram

Is it the only cards you can buy? It's pretty old, what's your budget?

Ehm no. I just wanted to know is it better than the 9600gt. I do have a GT 240 but it isn't in use anymore since i upgraded to a Radeon HD 6850  

So whats the point of the 9600gt?
Though I say 9600gt in performance, but no dx11.

nonono, stay with your 240, 9600 GT is just barely faster than 240, not worth it.

They are pretty equal, the 9600 may edge it out by a small margin for the most part but the 240 has DX11 support and will pull ahead in some areas so it may have more features if that's your thing.

Go and stay with GT 240. That's what I would do.

And to jonpaul37, correction, GT 240 doesn't support DX11  . It only support DX10.1 and it's based on Tesla architecture  .

Yes i'm aware of that. He probably mistaken it for a GT 440   I know the all geforce 200 series cards don't support directx 11
 

ha! yes, my bad, i do realize that dx11 was not supported by Nvidia until Fermi and 5xxx-series from ATI
