Hello Experts.

Trying to do a new system and it simply will not boot.

Gigabyte X79-UD5 (socket 2011)

Intel i7-3930K

AMD Firepro V3900

Coolmaster 212 CPU Cooler

Coolmaster Extreme Plus 700x Power Supply

G.Skill DDR3-17000 Ram (8 sticks, 4GB each).

WD Raptor 450GB hard drive

LG Blu-Ray Drive

Build went fine in Coolmaster case.

System will not boot. With all parts installed fans (CPU and case) start and run a few seconds and everything shuts down. I have tried must everything I could think of, and the items listed in the guide here, and still can't get it running.

Tried a different power supply.

Tried pulling ram, using just 2 sticks, etc.

Tried different video card.

Tried different HD and Optical drive.

I have never been able to get past that first 2 seconds of fan spinning before it shuts off.

Any advice, help, tips or shipments of aspirin are greatly appreciated!

Jimmy

sounds like a bad motherboard. Your problem is exactly the one I had when I hooked a bad power supply up to my motherboard than when I realized it was the power supply I swapped it for a good one but the damage was done and the motherboard was boot looping. Swapped for a new board with the same good power supply. Problem solved.
