Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP

Budget Range: About $600 CAD before rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Diablo 3/Starcraft 2/Dota2/LOL Web surfing. That is all that will be run on this machine.

Parts Not Required: Windows, Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor (will upgrade later on) and possibly hard drive.

I have this Sata 3TB Hard drive
http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=1...
that is currently going to waste because it is only recognized as 750GB by my ancient MOBO. If this will not decrease the quality of game I will reluctantly use this for now to save $.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Parts only required. Will be buying from a friends store.

Country: Canada

Parts Preferences: No Preference.

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: doesnt matter

Monitor Resolution: Whatever is best for a 19" monitor but need to be future proof for when I upgrade my monitor.

Additional Comments: Will go over budget for an easy to use case.

Thanks Outlander! So I am assuming the hard drive I have is fine? I don't really want to get a new hard drive, but I will if it will increase load times or anything like that.

That drive might be a bit slow but it won't affect FPS in games. The build that Outlander suggested looks great, you only need like 200W with the HD 7770 though. A 300-350W PSU would be fine.

Great upgradable system.

If you are not upgrading anytime soon.
Phenom II x4 965BE
MSI 990XA GD55
Crucial 4GB DDR3 1333mhz
6870.

These are all handily ready to get on newegg.

I am just giving you the other side of the fence ;)

Hmmm I doubt I will be upgrading any time soon. Probably for Diablo 4 and Starcraft 3 in 15 years or so. How is your build performance wise compared to Outlanders?

The i3 would give better gaming performance than the Phenom, the Phenom would be better in rendering etc. though.

MSI 990XA GD55 doesn't have the best of ratings. Does this work? ASUS M5A97 It is also cheaper. I'm looking to build a computer for a friend for the same reasons as OP.
