My fan for my Scythe SCMG-2100 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185142 ) cooler looks to be dying (sometimes it runs sometimes it doesn't).
Even with just the heatsink I get alright cooling but I think to not put too much stress on my CPU I should buy a fan (I've got a i5 760 that I have to throw a lot voltage at to get to 2.8->3.8).
Two questions:
1) Do I specifically need a CPU fan or will any 120 mm fan work as a replacement?
2) I'm thinking of getting the Scythe SY1225SL12SH 120mm "Slipstream" Case Fan http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185060 . Is that a good choice or would you recommendations I get another fan from Newegg (I don't want something too loud)?
