Hello,
I have just recently made a new computer. I did it on the cheaper side as I didn't have that much to play with.
Running Windows7 and I have:
AMD fx-4170 4,2 ghz processor
HIS radeon HD 7750 graphics card
ASRock 880GM-LE FX Motherboard
G-Skill 2x4GB DDR3 Ram
Old 160gb seagate 7200rpm HDD (about 6 years old)
Secondary new 500gb seagate 7200rpm HDD

After looking at reviews of everything, i was sure this would be able to run quite demanding games on at least medium quality. I recently bought assassins creed brotherhood and skyrim, and with no success. It freezes and struggles to render the environments. It seems to be fine with smaller games like tf2.
It is on a 4:3 19" screen, 1280x1024.

I am unsure of the problems, Graphics or cpu? And would overclocking make any difference to the performance i get out?
Any help is appreciated
Thanks.

Make sure you have the most recent motherboard BIOS.

Do you have all the right drivers installed? Freezing is a symptom of a problem with software, I think, not inadequate hardware. Also, try to confirm that the 7750 is working by removing it and seeing if anything changes.
