Hey guys,

Basically my graphics card has died, rather than doing a full upgrade now i'm going to buy a cheap stop-gap until i rebuild in the summer.

I have a Dell Inspiron 531 with a 300w (max) power supply, the card i've chosen is this:

http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/nvidiageforcegraphicscards/nvidiagt520series/01g-p3-1525-kr.html

The specs for the card:

http://uk.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-520/specifications

say that it needs a 300w power supply MINIMUM. Can my PSU stretch to this and make it run comfortably, or shall I just bite the bullet and get a decent PSU now for the future?

I appreciate your replies, thanks.

Why wait for summer up your rig now. Just get better PSU and VGA now and get CPU + MB in the summer. If your PSU won't fit the case just leave it outside the case and run cables inside the case (or get new case, too).

cos me has no monies :) i need a cheap fix now and then when i've saved up a bit i'll slowly transition it up. Am i right in thinking my DDR2 memory won't work in a DDR3 slot?

Think i might get it from Amazon, quicker delivery and a 3 year warranty instead of a 1 year warranty.

Before I order, is this the same doohickie?

Thanks.
