How to configure linksys router with d-link modem

I have a Cisco Linksys E1000 router and a D-Link modem. The router worked on both my PC and laptop with an old modem. I just received the new modem and it works on my PC (plugged into the back of my PC tower.) DSL says I have to reconfigure the router in order to have it work with the new modem so that I can plug the Lan cable into the router and have both the pc and laptop work. I don't know how to do this. Can you walk me through it. Thank you. Rose

do you have the E1000 setup to authenticate to your ISP?

if so, check the modem it might have to be configured to work in bridge mode.
