What in particular would cause a no signal on a pc

Hello,
my brother spilled some liquid on his keyboard, he bought a new keyboard but got the message "no signal" could the wet keyboard have caused this? The new keyboard has been tested on another pc OK

Assuming Server and not a laptop....

Totally unplug the keyboard. Does the system still have a no video problem? Assume yes. Do you see any of the BIOS splash messages? Assume no -- if this is not correct please post.

Does the PC have both integrated video and a discrete video card ? Look on the back of PC and see if there is another place to plug the video cable. Make sure cable is connected. Pplay with it.
