Building my first desktop with 10 days to go.

Hey guys, I've given up on trying to make laptops work for serious gaming. I have a full time job with great hours and I think it's time to invest the time/money into building my first desktop. I'm on a pretty tight deadline, and if it comes to it I'll just buy a shitty premade that will just barely play D3 and upgrade it over time.

Approximate Purchase Date: before or around D3 release (May 15th)

Budget Range: up to 2k USD, but i'd prefer around 1k

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming

Parts Not Required: keyboard and mouse

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: nothing sketchy

Monitor Resolution: big enough

-i'm thinking a case that has a lot of potential for future upgrades (when i get paid)
-also thinking i7 instead of i5
-i'd prefer a quieter desktop, but not a deal breaker

those stuff above and other extra stuff should be well below 2k USD, unless your talking about dual GPU Setup


sli or crossfire = using 2 or more graphics card in your system for around 1.5-1.8x the performance increase or something 2.0 depends.

look at Estics sig or mine, just mix and match ^_^ imo mine with a dual gtx570 and maybe without sdd can get below 2k, I did a build list before at 19xx$ usd using dual gtx 570 with i7 3930k

Okay, I've decided to squash my fears of compatibility problems by just buying a combo.

It does not have a GPU though, and the sapphire HD 7870 seems overkill at $350... what to do!
