Will the radeon HD 6570 work with my computer

Hi guys, I have a dell inspiron 531
and I want to buy a new graphics card for it.
I have been looking at the radeon HD 6570, which looks pretty good.
But I need to know if it's compatible with my machine.

Here is my system information:

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz

Ram: 2048MB

Power: 300W.

BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOSTeDell System b6.00PG

Motherboard: Dell Inspiron 531S Motherboard RY206

DirectX 11

Windows 7 Ultimate

So, what do you guys say? Would it work?

  1. But some people say that 300W is just enough.

That the radeon graphic cards usually take up less than 100W.

    Is this true?
  2. 300W seem a little weak. You'll know for sure after running it a couple of week when you smell smoke.
  3. Hmm, so if I get a new power supply everything else would work fine?

Or can you guys recommend a graphics card that would run on a 300W power supply?
Just to save a couple of bucks.

I just need a graphics card good enough to run games like assassin's creed or batman arkham city.
  4. If you want to know for sure connect a Kill a Watt to see how much power you are using under load. Most likely if you are running a 300 Watt power supply you don't have more than 200 watts of usability in it. I'm running a 5670 in my machine but I only push 170 watts under full gaming load because of how I built it. I'm also using a 380 watt 80% certified PSU, which makes a difference.
  5. Hmm, well I could risk it, but I don't think it'll be a good idea.

As I said before, recommend any other graphic cards?

    How about the 5570?

yes it will run perfectly fine, your only running a dual core which wont use much power + the card itself barley uses any power at all you could even run a 6670/7750 if you had the money.

You sure? Even though it says I should have 400W?
