Hi,

I have the same problem.
I'm unable to install drivers for my AMD Radeon Sapphire HD 6950 1 GB on windows 7 64 bits.

After installing the drivers i reboot, the screen remains black...
I tried 4 different drivers but failed.

I have no problem with the card on ubuntu.

I someone solved the problem let us know

Thanks.

I have the same issue as you guys and it's because my motherboard uses ATI drivers for some chip that controls the VGA out put (which is hardwired to the board)

So when i do the express uninstall which removes ALL ATI drivers, it nukes my mobo as well and then I have to do a system restore to fix it.

I've just been manually uninstalling the specific portions and downloading those from the ATI website and installing them so that this issue doesnt keep happening. (And if I'm lazy I just install over top of them with out uninstalling anything)

I solved my problem!

My TV (HDMI) and my PC screen (DVI) were connected to the video card.
I just unpluged the hdmi cable and it worked....

Hope it can help.
