Minor upgrade question

Hello,

At the moment I have a PII @3.7 paired with 6950 x-fired. Will I see a boost switching to 3570K? Resolution is 1080p and is for gaming.

Yes of course you will see a boost but honestly it all depends on the game.

I had an AMD Phenom II @ 4.2 ghz and it bottlenecked my gtx 670 in Bf3 and a little bit in crysis 2.

Now you have two 6950's imagine what kind of bottleneck you must be having

I switched to an i5 3570k and my framerates were always at a consistent 60 and and rarely went below that

Well I had thought to alleviate the bottleneck with the OC to 3.7 but I still struggle to get the performance I want. I even tried to compensate by lowering the resolution from 1600p to 1080p, with some marked improvement, but now a certain game is destroying my CPU.

What game? I don't think you would see a huge difference in most FPS, but in something like Starcraft or Civilization I think the odds are pretty good it would make a big difference.

I enjoy the Total War games but not the subsequent stutter that follows, especially when using the Darth Mod for it. PlanetSide 2 is the game though that is finally pushing me to upgrade.
