I am looking to upgrade my GTX 280 to a graphics card that can run Battlefield 3 better and also support 3 monitors.
I am working on websites, so i need the three monitor support for code, not for gaming, but am looking to get better gaming support as the 280 is DX10.
The monitors are:
Samsung 32" 1080p
Samsung 27" 1080p
and HP 20" 1080p
Motherboard: Asus P6X58D
CPU: Intel i7 930 Quad-core (2.8 ghz, i believe)
PSU: Antec TruPower 1000
Should I get another 280 or upgrade a second card to a 560 TI? ( this was advice from a guy at MicroCenter, he actually said the 560 ti will support all 3, but the ebay seller i contacted regarding the 560 ti said the card only supports 2 monitors...)
Should I run both the 280 and the 560 ti simultaneously, or just run the 560?(would that allow the 3 monitor support?)
What are the benefits of 560 vs. others like the 480? (I dont want to spend too much)
Please forgive the amount of questions and my ignorance.
so two graphics cards on a motherboard have to be SLI'd to work? I didnt know that. Then again I dont know alot. So would it benefit me to buy a AMD, or to SLI my GTX 280 with another?
If the answer is the former, what is an affordable AMD card that runs DX11 and will run 3 screens without a hitch?
You would probably be best served to just wait for the Radeon 78xx cards are out and pick one of those up however SLI GTX280 is nothing to pass off ether being it would perform better than a GTX 580 sometimes.
